Why plan ahead for a funeral?

Funeral planning is a sensitive subject that we tackle together, calmly and in complete confidence.
Anticipating does not mean “spending” before the time or committing to anything, without any possibility of changing one’s mind or direction.

Planning your funeral aims first and foremost to answer the many questions we hear from our customers:

• I have no children, my partner has a degenerative disease, who will take care of our funeral?
• I have very clear ideas about my funeral, and I talk to my loved ones about it, but will they remember all my wishes?
• My euthanasia is scheduled for 15 days from now and my children are devastated. Can I spare them by meeting you?
• My spouse and children never want to listen to me when I talk about my funeral. Who can keep my wishes?
• I categorically refuse to be cremated. Who will care when my eyes are closed?
• My elderly parents have made no plans and I’ll have to pay for everything myself.
• My uncle lives in a home, he receives CPAS benefits, I’m his last family, what are my obligations for his funeral?
• I’m alone in life, and I die unexpectedly on the public highway. Who will notify the funeral parlour I’ve chosen?

We draw up personal files, carefully preserving your choices and any instructions you may have regarding:

• Place of worship, crematorium and/or cemetery…
• The choice of clothing and coffin.
• The choice of transfer to a funeral home or elsewhere,
• and whether or not to be visible.
• Plans for announcements and obituaries,
• photo souvenir.
• Instructions for the flowers, music and texts to be read.

Getting a costed estimate

This is the best way to avoid unpleasant surprises, including unforeseeable costs.
By appointment, A&G FUNERAL staff will listen to your needs and share their experience with you. They will draw up an estimate based on your choices, and provide you with a budget that is both realistic and detailed.
Our customers are free to come back to them to adapt and modify them according to life’s circumstances.

The role of your loved ones

For some of your loved ones, the thought of your death is very difficult to contemplate.
When it comes to our last wishes, some are open to information and others keep their distance.
But those closest to you are not necessarily members of the same family.
They may be friends, neighbours, colleagues, or staff at a clinic or nursing home.
Without necessarily going into detail, we recommend that they at least know with whom you have made arrangements. Our Last Will and Testament booklet also includes a small card that you can keep in your wallet.
